    Samurai 7 needs to be on your DVD library!

    This is a re-working of the famous Japanese film, Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa; which was also the basis of the American classic western, The Magnificent Seven. In this animated version, the tale takes us to a psuedo-feudal society where samurai wander the Japanese landscapes with rice farmers, merchants, geishas and lords, along side sci-fi robotics and weaponry. Essentially, the animated version stays true to the original story of a village hiring samurai to protect their rice crops from merciless bandits. I rented this after a recommendation from a more knowledgeable anime fan/clerk at my local video store. Not very often have I ever rented a movie and after watching it, told myself that I HAVE TO HAVE THIS for my DVD library but that is how it happened. Samurai 7 has it all! ...
