Fantastic little device. Lots of great tones and a treasure trove of extra tones to be found and easily downloaded on the website. Very easy and intuitive to use. As a Johnny Winter fan I downloaded his tone on the website and it's spot on from the Still Alive and Well period. Amazing. No matter what you're looking for tone wise you're bound to find it. I personally like to plug it directly into a pair of stereo monitors and it sounds great--very high fidelity! Of course you can plug it directly into a board, PA, or your favorite amp. Great little amp at such a great price! Fantastic little device. Lots of great tones and a treasure trove of extra tones to be found and easily downloaded on the website. Simply amazing!
When I first heard the pocket pod being used I was amazed at the sound. The 'effects', the 'delay', and the tone were simply amazing. I am involved in southern to country style Gospel music and mostly use verb, delay, and I selected the British classic sounds. There are a couple bits of advice I would give: 1. Do not turn the CHAN VOL to loud (produces some noise). Find that happy medium. 2. Get a power supply and don't depend solely on the batteries (especially live performance). The best portable headphone amp
I have been playing for a few years now and I got to tell you, this has to be in my opinion the best bang for the money. The tones you can get out of this are incredible. I have tried the Vox and a few other aftermarket headphone amps and was never satisfied with the tones I got. This little power house does it all. I love the fact you can go on line 6's website and download other users custom tones. Very easy to navigate through this little unit. Go out and buy one. You won't be disappointed. I am kind of a beginner-intermediate on the guitar, and never had any luck or inclination to learn details of effects pedals. I bought one of the older Zooms, and then tried some other cheaper individual pedals, amps and never got the effects like Metallica, Megadeth, Satriani etc. so was playing clean for a long time. I got the Pocket Pod used for $50 on ebay, and boy was I impressed. This has some built-in song presets and the Vyzex software that you download for free is simply amazing - you can download song/artist presets on Line 6 CustomTone website for free, load it into the software in a few seconds and start playing. I have never had the kind of satisfaction of playing some of favorite bands until now. Nice product; Excellent effects; nice clean sound, overdrive is a bit week. Dialing in sounds takes a bit of effort, but once they are saved, it's very easy to use. Location of the 1/4"jack is awkward and the unit does not stand/sit very well. It's a bit unstable, so ends up requiring 2 hands to use.
