The Song Remains The Same (Blu-ray, 1976)

Very impressed with the picture and sound quality of this landmark film. Not so impressed with the new edits I discovered while watching it. Newbies may not notice but long-time fans who have watched this film in various ways over the years (including midnight theaters) notice these things. They should've subtitled this "The Uncut Version" or something like that. I give it 5 stars for the quality....not the content. For that I give it a 4.5.

Led Zep fans will love it

This is a concert I saw a long time ago and I wanted to relive it. The blu ray it good, but not spectacular as I was expecting. I think they just copied the DVD. But I got it cheap on EBAY, so it was still worthwhile for a Led Zeppelin fan.

  • Real ROCK Revived

Now that Zeppelin's the Song Remains The Same is available on blu-ray disc, it's a chance to upgrade from the VHS release from years ago. Although the original source video is relatively low quality, the engineers went to work to get the most out of what they had to work with and apply modern techniques to bring it to life. Picture quality and sound are noticeably better. It probably would have been just as good on low res DVD, but if your going to take something old and make it new again....go blu-ray. Rock fans, both young and old, will get a view of some great concert footage, back stage scenes, and vignettes from each of the band members and one from manager Peter Grant as well. They don't make bands like this anymore.

  • Better than DVD, best Zep BTS / Live concert synthesis.

The Blu-ray is obviously far superior to the DVD, VHS...etc. in terms of sound quality. I don't know though if the image quality is THAT much superior to DVD. I bought this product as a blu-ray I could throw on during parties for background music and imaging and it works great for mood. The overall concept of the video is great as well with a lot of behind the scenes shots synthesized with amazing live footage. I gave this 4/5 stars because the MSG concert is the only live footage utilized in this video. Ideally, a few other concerts could be thrown in for some classics that are seen online such as Immigrant Song or The Ocean that are seen as highly quality videos on youtube...etc. I would still say its the best Zeppelin encompassing movie out there and there is tons of input by Jimmy ...

  • The song remains the same - Led Zepplin

I like the group Led Zepplin, I liked the music and the stories behind the days of them being young and playing out. some stories told of some of their life styles- to kinda let you know a little personal stuff about them. The bluray disc made a huge difference also. All and all it was a very good show. Especially if your an ol timer and that was the music you grew up on. great
