Product Information

WITHOUT A CLUE presents an original twist on the famous Sherlock Holmes-Dr. John Watson stories of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This time, Dr. Watson's the one with a talent for solving mysteries, while Holmes is nothing but his fictional creation. After inventing the sleuth in a series of popular stories based on crimes he's solved, Dr. Watson decides to satisfy the public's desire to see Holmes by hiring actor Reginald Kincaid to masquerade as the brilliant detective. Soon however Dr. Watson grows to despise the bumbling Kincaid, so he ends their partnership and comes up with a new character modeled after himself. But the new creation just doesn't go over well with the public and the doctor must once again depend upon Kincaid -- just in time to solve a new mystery. Then Watson suddenly vanishes... leaving Holmes to solve the case on his own.

    One of the most intelligent yet funniest movies ever!

    This is definitely one of my all-time favorite movies. First saw it on an airplane where I embarrassed myself by laughing uncontrollably with my headset on. I knew Michael Caine was a comedic genius but who would have suspected Ghandi (Ben Kingsley) of being so funny. Love the concept, loved the execution and loved the belly laughs. Michael Caine with an innocent expression, and explosion residue all over his face is priceless. And pronouncing the cause of death as "a blow by a blunt excrement" is still my favorite line.

    Good, clean movie that has great actors. Comedy may be above little kids heads, but I would say anyone 10 or over should get it.

    Without a Clue (2004, DVD)

    I saw this movie on it's original theatre run and was floored...literally. The whole scenario - Dr.Watson as the genius and Sherlock Holmes as a bumbling alcoholic womanizer - had me ROTFL! Throw in Watson's sudden disappearance, leaving Holmes to actually solve the case against the diabolical mastermind Moriarty, and you have a sure-fire tour-de-farce. The laughs just keep coming. I'd worn out my VHS copy, and when I saw this DVD at such a great price I had no choice but to snap it up.
