took a while for usps to finally get it delivered but the price was right and packing was satisfactory. had a couple of glitches but i just threw it in the player without cleaning first. i suspect dust/smudge is the culprit. thank you for a pleasant transaction!

bought it for only 1 song but...

Unbelievable voice with great control of her instrument. All songs have their merit. I am a musician and not critical of another artists art. Art must be appreciated for the effort put forth from the artist to display the craft whether it is your style or not appreciate the effort. I love the blues and this Lady feels it and expresses it exquisitely. Worth the money to own.

  • Great Cd

Alica Keys' is the sexy Aquarian that won five Grammy's for this her debut album for a reason, she is that good! Take a piece of Roberta Flack, Al Green, & Stevie Wonder pour into a twenty first century Motown gal & you'll have Alicia Keys'. Rich soulful vocals, warm melodies & catchy lyrics that make this album a winner. Since she is classically trained it is clear after only one listening that her timing is perfect. There are sixteen tracks including two remakes, "Someday We'll Be Free & Prince's How Come You Don't Call Me." These two were fine but I like her tunes far more. They range from slow, midtempo, to fast. "Fallin," is hands down the best song on the album & for me the best ballad since the Rolling ...

  • "Songs in A Minor" is The Album!

We never forget the first time. With a bit of nostalgia, I dare to say that "Songs in A Minor" is yet the best effort coming from Alicia Keys. In 2001, she was so young and yet so full of talent to offer us. From a girl that age, we usually don't expect such great piece of work. Not only she is able to sing smoothly, but also plays piano greatly. In my opinion, this album is the one on which she shows more of her true talent than the others that came later. "The Diary of Alicia Keys", "Unplugged" and "As I Am" are also great records, each one shows evidences that she's polyvalent and can evolve musically, but the impression I have is that her 2001 debut effort is the real landmark: seemingly less concerned with popularity (which came ...

  • A Minor by Alicia Keys

This is Alicia keys debut Cd and its very nice! the song that i first remember hearing from this Cd was Fallin. It was playing in heavy rotation when this CD dropped ! My favorite tracks from this CD are as follows.. FALLIN...GIRLFRIEND..her rendition of Prince's HOW COME YOU DON' CALL ME...ROCK WI U.. A WOMAN'S WORTH (I love this song)...NEVER FELT THIS WAY (rendition of Brian McKnights song).. and CAGED BIRD! This is the Cd that introduced Alicia keys to the world.Pick this up for your collection. I played it straight through and enjoyed it!

  • Songs in A Minor by Alicia Keys

This was Alicia Keys debut CD. Alicia writes most of her own tracks, and plays a lot of the music for the recordings as well. This is what I call a true artist. The CD starts with a piano classic, but then Alicia drops her own beats into it, showing her own styling which is a great opening for the CD. I loved it from start to finish, and I hope you do to.
