  • Misses the mark, get the original you will enjoy it more.

Russell Brand stars in the remake of the classic of the same name that starred Dudley Moore, Liza Minnelli and John Gielgud. Although the movie is a remake it does not follow the original scrips to the letter and unfortunately this movie does not hit the same mark the original did. Brand gives a good performance but lacks the natural comic abilities that Moore has. Helen Mirren is a great actor, but I have never seen where replacing the original Male actor with a female actress works either. Jennifer Garner is a good actress but she is NOT Liza Minnelli. The movie is good, but I rate it only a 3 because it does not meet the quality of the original.

Wonderful movie, super funny and moving. Helen Mirren is at the top of her game. A must see. Russell Brand is simple remarkable. And Jennifer Garner has never looked so good. The movie is about a spoiled adult and the backlashes of money. Along with never caring about anything until it is almost to late to do so. In a modern time with wealth marring wealth as proposed to the ancient times when wealth married wealth. And the stand that others tried to change with love and excitement.
