  • Must have for fans of Cap & Jack (The King) Kirby!

I have long been a fan of Jack Kirbys' 1960's artwork and a Captain America fan so to have one volume that collects Kirbys' first run on Cap is a must have. Yes some stories have "plot holes", to be polite, but that doesn't detract from Kirbys' dynamic artwork even when he only does layouts for other artists to pencil over. Bear in mind when these stories were originally issued comic books cost 12 cents for a 32 page book so we're not talking Shakespeare here, although, truth be told, I've never been a big fan of Will S! I've read through the individual Marvel Masterpiece volumes and the first thing I notice in comparison is the better quality here in the linework reproduction. Images are much sharper and probably cleaner than originally ...
