The smell of popcorn and cotton candy, the clowns juggling, the children screaming with joy as the rides go around -- and you! That's right, you can be the proprietor of your very own amusement park with SimTheme Park from Electronic Arts and Bullfrog. Think SimCity meets Disneyland, but now you can be the boss! Now that you're in charge, things have to get done in order for the park to open on time. You must first set the paths so visitors are able to easily access your many attractions. Obviously, rides and rollercoasters need to be placed throughout the park and entrances and exits need to be connected to a path. Shops, such as soft drinks and burger stands, need to be strategically placed throughout your park space to lure your visitors. You should also throw in some little extras like security cameras, bathrooms, trash cans and decorative elements. Wondering about the staff? You can hire merchants, mechanics, guards, janitors and researchers. Merchants will be able to sell goods around the park, such as balloons and toys. Mechanics will fix your rides if they break down. Guards will keep the park safe and out of trouble, while Janitors will keep those bathrooms from looking nasty! Researchers can help upgrade your rides as well as discover new ones. Once the park opens, it's a whole new can of worms! You'll have to micro-manage almost everything. You might need to put more ice in your drinks, salt on your fries or fat in your burgers to keep the people happy. Rides need good duration and speed to keep the excitement level up. Features like video arcades and games should be added for more revenue. Don't let workers get too greedy or ticket prices rise too high -- you could be in for some financial trouble. Sim Theme Park for Playstation Review
I purchased the Sim Theme Park playstation game for my daughter. She loves the Rollercoaster Tycoon computer game, and also loves playing The Sims. I purchased Sim Theme Park because it is similar to Rollercoaster Tycoon, and my girls received a playstation system for Christmas. The only thing that I disliked about the purchase is that the game did not come complete in the case; included in the auction was the game disc and a hard case, no paperwork. The game works great, and I am very happy with the purchase. It was also bought at a much lower price than other auctions for the same item.I purchased the Sim Theme Park playstation game for my daughter. Your duty is to make profits, utilize your god-like skills by building structures such as rides, stores, and more rides to keep the tourists happy and try to earn awards by making this theme park the best one around! I utterly enjoy this game because of the utmost freedom provided in the game play and that it is fun to see the visitors go around the rides and such. Makes you look like god. Sim theme park is an great game for the fans who like SIM genre games - and for those who haven't played the SIM genre, go and play it now because it is fun and easy. Game Play You have a vast land and your job is to create structures such as rides and a gate around the place before tourists can actually come inside. There are a plethora of structures ... There are a plethora of structures you can build such as roller coasters, water rides, swings, ice-cream shops, fast food shop, costume store and many more. You can control the price of each items, so you want to balance that it is not so expensive and no so cheap - because you want to make a profit and want a lot of merchandise being sold. You them employ employees by creating alot of different occupations such as janitors (so they can keep the park clean and not upset the tourists), security guards (so there is no trouble and no stealing) and rides worker in your park. You can set their wages so you can make alot of profits. If you set it too low, they can go on strike, so you wouldn't want to make them minimum wage. This adds realism to the age which adds challenge, and makes you really think. You can also place other things you can add ot your park such as security cameras, trash cans, exit signs to help your tourists have a fun time. Graphic The graphic of SIM them park for the PC is really good - it's ok. When you look at the overview (bird's eye view) of the park you can distinguish everything such as the uniform workers and the tourists in the game. But when you get up close to the game (ground view level) you can see the pixels of the people and it isn't that good (But I think it utilize all the power of the PS1) But it is still playable and it's good on the eye. You won't get awsome graphics, however, it is decent and you'll still enjoy it. Sound/Music The enjoy listening to the music of this game; the sound tracks are instrumental music that are 'kiddish'. Music that you'll find in a family educational show. There are different music for different theme parks (some park themes are halloween, jungle, space etc) There are also the sounds of the people who walk around the park and children who scream and laugh when they are riding the water rides or roller coasters. You can hear the cheers when they're having fun or grumbles when someone can't find the wash room! Overall the sound and music for this game is average. Replayability There is alot of replay value in this game because you don't just have one park - oh no. Once you complete one theme park you move into the other which is another theme. For example, once you complete the jungle theme park by making alot of money and expanding it alot, then you have the option of moving on to another park such as a space or Halloween theme park. This is done by collecting gold tickets when you make alot of money or place alot of trash cans in the park. If you finished all the park you can always build and expand your parks!

Do the math before purchasing a product
I ordered a theme park video game for playstation as a gift for my daughter. When I received the game, I was impressed that it consisted of everything including the manual. I did not like the condition of the game disc itself. It was not cleaned and was covered in scratches. I had noone to blame but myself for not really looking in depth at the game before purchasing it. So, I learned my lesson the hard way. Always make sure that ,prior to making the purchase, you thoroughly look at the details.
