  • okay, but underachieving

This is definitely not as good as previous efforts. This band is in search of an identity. There is no more rapcore on this effort. It is like they are trying to get more radio acceptance, more wide-spread appeal than previous efforts. Their audience is mostly teens, and so they should stick with the layered rock that brought them so much success on previous outings. There are a couple rocking tracks, one mid-tempo, and a pallateable ballad here. Otherwise, this is a confusing offering in this genre. They need to get back to what rocks, that being Noah's layered guitar work. It seems like Pillar is trying to impress their parents, or the parents of the teens who typically buy their cd's. The lyrics are still good and upfront, but they aren't able to span as many genres as they ...
