Product Information

In the futuristic world of Project Eden, cities that have run out of room expanding outwards instead must build upwards. The game is set a city that has been built to the sky, layer upon layer. The very bottom of the city, the actual ground level, is never seen by most citizens and many assume it to be deserted, if they think of it at all. The ground is given very little concern by most folks, actually, aside from the occasional team of engineers that must head down to the Earth's surface to reinforce base structures and building foundations.<br><br>Now, one of these teams of structural technicians has traveled below and has not returned. Guiding team members of an elite government force, the player must follow the missing engineers to the depths of the planet's surface and investigate. Project Eden features four characters for the player to control, each with unique skills and personalities. Players can switch from several different camera angles and move between a first- and third-person perspective. As the characters descend lower and lower into the city's depths, conditions become more dangerous and strange. Cultists, criminals, and worse make their homes in the bowels of the city. The heroes will be well challenged just to survive the trip.

Best multiplayer game ever! This is a thinking persons game! Plenty of puzzles and problems to solve with just enough action to keep you on your toes. You can play as a member of a 4 person squad in multiplayer mode OR you can control ALL 4 members by switching back-n-forth in single player mode! Each member has unique attributes and skills required to overcome and solve the complex problems and challeges you will face. The game starts with your squad investigating a disturbance at a meat factory on an upper level of a futuristic city environment where skyscapers reach unbelievable heights. As the story evolves with the discovery of new information you will gradually work and investigate downwards thru 11 different game levels ultimately reaching the grounds surface level where people no ... A must have PS2 game once you get passed the first few levels!
I remember getting this game a few months after it came out in the begining of the PS2's life cycle. I like many other people bought this because I saw 4 player multi-player. I started playing it with my little brother and that didn't last long he thought it was ok but wasn't fun enough to play through. However I loved the physics in the game it wasn't as good as Half-Life or Red Faction or Deus Ex but if memory serves none of those games were out yet. Anyway the puzzle solving was nice because you had to use everyone on the team to get through a lot of the puzzles. I thought it would have been an awesome game to play at the time with 3 other people each controlling a character and working together to beat the game. After completing the first few levels in the game you are rewarded with a lot more entertaining game! The slow talking to people at the Real Meat factory and investigating fades away into a faster paced shooter with fun puzzle solving and lots more enemies to fight! Once I passed the first few levels my brother wanted to play again. So my reconmendation would be to push through the first few slow levels and wait for the lower levels of the city because they are a lot more entertaining! Pro: Physics; Puzzles; First Person Shooter with a multi-player story line. Cons: First few levels are slow and not as fun as they could have been. There aren't enough enemies in some levels. You get reanimated when you die if your other characters walk by a machine that digitizes you in as and there isn't a set number of reanimations so it's not as dificult of a game as I would like. I would have love to see a remake of this! I doubt it will happen because of the not so stellar reviews that a lot of game "experts" gave it that turned people away from a true gem on the PS2. Would have been a great style to make for an Aliens game. Instead of the heavily FPS styles that have been released.

The game challenges all of your thoughts, actions and intellect. Also very well laid out with the correct amount of puzzle solving, action and team interactions.

A must-have multiplayer puzzle shooter
Well I must say beating this game was a personal goal for me and my brothers. when it first came out on the PS2 we played it and never finished it. Finally I finished it this year. Personal testimony aside, this game is a must have for any ps3 or ps2 owner gameplay is great. graphics are substandard for the present day...but the story is what makes this a true gem of a game. I think this game is interesting. I think it is odd and fascinating. It is one-of-a-type unique game this is very much worth playing. It makes own mark in the video game world and should be respected. I enjoyed playing from start to end although I had a hard time understanding it.
