    Equation Solver

I bought the Casio FX-991 ES. Fantastic for using Newton's law of approximation to solve equations like sinδ = a + bcos(δ + β) (a, b, β constants). Just substitute the ANS key for δ in the equation and keep hitting the "=" button till the answer doesn't change (converges).

  • Easy to Use

I bought this calculator because it was the best allowed for use on my exams (best in terms of its features and capablities). The "pretty print" font feature is great too. It can even perform integration and differentiation of a function at a specific value of the independent variable (or over a specified nonvariable range. Unfortunately, it can't produce the function that is the derivative, etc. of a given function like the TI89 (but then if it could it probably wouldn't be allowed on your exam anyhow). Anyway, this thing is pretty decent for calculus and physics - for stats, use a TI83 instead if you can. It is more than adaquate for business types and decent for science students too assuming your professor is against more advanced models. Engineers already know they'll be needing ...

  • Best Simple Display Calculator I've Used

Best non graphing calculator for engineering courses I've used. Best part is being able to plug in human readable fractions.

  • Precise with great features

I'm a student and this calculator helps me a lot to accomplish the math exercises required by class. Many functions are included, more than I will need actually but I loved the design, the big screen, the price and the ease of use.

  • Great for Digital Systems Design

I recommend this model for CS studies and Electrical Engineering. It's real easy to calculate in non decimal base: base 2 8 and 16 and to convert it back to decimal. I think there are calculator models with a more robust screen. I guess that's why it's relatively cheap
