Great phones - but buy good batteries
The reviewer who stated "The item was not listed you would have to subscribe to paytalk as your long distance carrier. In order for these phones to work you have subscribe to paytalk" ... is completely misinformed. The ONLY connection these phones have to "Pay-n-Talk" is that there is a single button on the user interface that ALLOWS owners one-button access to Pay-n-Talk if they WANT to use the Pay-n-Talk long distance service. These are great little full-featured DECT 6.0 phones: they do not interfere with your wireless computer network, they are not subject to interference from your microwave oven and are the most user-friendly as far as programming functions as any phone I have used (and I've used mine for almost two years). For those complaining about phone lifespan: CHANGE YOUR ... The reviewer who stated "The item was not listed you would have to subscribe to paytalk as your long distance carrier. I've used these phones before so I know how they work. But this set was old and none of the batteries were any good. But I feel like I got it at a good enough price and I'm satisfied.

Bad News for American telecom cordless phones
These phones worked for 1.5 weeks then when you try to dial out the dial tone remained on the phone. These phones are a waste of money. I wouldn't purchase any type of this phone again

These phones worked for 3 days and then stopped. Poor audio and would not dial out. Very poor quality. I would not recommend these phones.
