About this product

Product Information

Following the tread marks of its predecessors, Saints Row: The Third is an open-world action-adventure, in an urban setting of speed and violence. No longer struggling against rival crime families and meddling authorities, the Third Street Saints now rule the city of Stillwater -- and have everything to lose.

Persevering in their gangland domination through the first two urban adventures, the Saints have risen from the criminal underworld to become a household brand name -- and a well-marketed one at that, with t-shirts, bobble-head dolls, and other tchotchke eagerly bought up by the amenable (if not adoring) Stillwater populace. A municipal treasury's worth of wealth and power at their disposal, the Saints now have easy access to over-armed tanks and laser-equipped experimental aircraft, as well as any car they happen to fancy on the busy city streets.

Much of the game's main narrative, however, takes place away from the relative safety of Stillwater. Trouble begins as an organization of criminal gangs from other cities, known as the Syndicate, invites the Saints to join. The Saints decline, choosing independence over new allies, and thus make a new enemy instead. In retaliation, the Syndicate captures the player's character, a high-ranking member of the Third Street gang, and takes him far from the safety of his Stillwater home turf, to the city of Steelport. A stranger in a strange place, the player's hero must learn the layout of the land, seek out the local head of each Syndicate gang, and eliminate its leader. So far, government authorities have held back, content to let the rival gangs thin one another's numbers, but they too seem likely to join in the mayhem as the street war heats up.

Those who embrace the absurd can make all kinds of ballistic mischief, away from the main storyline. Players are free to explore the city as they wish, on foot or behind the wheel, engaging in Grand Theft Auto-spirited urban sandbox antics. Powerful character creation tools and a variety of costumes and accessories encourage personal expression. Beyond mundane muggings and carjackings, characters can assail innocent passers-by with gratuitous groin punches, or perform pro wrestling-inspired takedowns. One of Professor Genki's new creations is a pick-up mounted cannon that can suck pedestrians off the sidewalks and then shoot them out, a city block or more, as flailing, rather messy projectiles. Player characters who choose to try shooting themselves from the device would do well to remember to aim for clear skies and pack a parachute.

    Great

The final game before the series got bad, I enjoyed this game. Very funny gameplay, I love how your choices affect the story, my second favorite in the Saints Row series.

  • resurecting a dead fan, to life with saints row the third!

i played, and purchased th original saints row, and although it was playable, i felt it alittle too hard, and NOTHING even close to GTA, more like gta:sa but gta was better, i didn't play it much, and pretty much disreguarded any new saints release. needless to say, i pretty much was dead to the series. cut to about 2months ago, i was looking into videos on Yt, AND EVENTUALLY said "what the heck" and bought it for 31 bucks, when i got it, i didn't like it too well, but more sooner and than later it became a GREAT game. its customization is great, from the charactor creation screen, to the many shops, you can be a zombie, or a super hero, or pirate in this game, to being a gangsta, to an alien, to a dominatrix o.o, the posssibilitys are endless, and its system leaves you free to do side ...

  • This game is a blast of over-the-top, hilarious insanity!

Right from the opening, you can tell this game is gonna be insane. The level of customization is great (both for characters and the cars and even your gang). The only disappointment was that some things seemed smaller than Saints Row 2. For instance, the only buildings you can enter are your safehouses and the shops. In SR2, you could enter the airport and a mall and fully explore both. Also, there seems to be less clothing options in SR3 than there were in SR2, despite their being more stores. However, the story is a lot more fun and more coherent this time around. I actually wanted to see how things ended, and felt an attachment to the characters involved. Also, there are more varied activities this time around. These range from protecting a drug dealer to getting in a tank and blowing ...

  • Awesome game, great alone but best in co-op with a friend!

Definitely a game for people who want to goof around GTA style but without the "realistic" aspect. I have beat this game about 7 or so times now due to helping friends get through co-op missions, and it is fun each time. However, unlike the GTA series where it has an online multiplayer, once you beat Saints Row 100% you are done, and there isnt much to do. It gets boring. But, there is enough activities and challenges to keep you going for hours and hours. In my longest used save file, I still havent finished all of the challenges and have yet to get every achievement. This game has seriously dropped in price, being 2 years old as im writing this with another sequel on the way. This game is perfect to play with a friend, so buy two copies and give one to a friend for the whole ...

  • This game gets slowly repetitive but is very fun (and funny as hell)

I was excited to find this game a month after its release (under 40 bucks!) as soon as it arrived I instantly began playing it. It didn't live up to my expectations but it still kept me entertained. I liked the smooth gameplay and how the story line could be both funny, yet serious and you could pick how you wanted to complete some missions, altering the story, though the game could have had more story missions (it ended too fast). Most free roam games become really repetitive for me but this one is fun, weird, and keeps me ROTFLMAO! Especially when on Xbox Live.
