Product Information

Fifteen years after a horrific experience in a deceptively inviting ginger bread house, an orphan Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) have become famous for ridding the countryside of witches. Despite their stellar success record, the brother and sister face a unique challenge when an extremely powerful witch is identified as the culprit stealing children from a local village with the intent to sacrifice them in an ancient magical ceremony to be held on the night of the Blood Moon. As Hansel and Gretel race against the clock, making several unlikely allies on the way (among them include a troll and a witch hunter fanboy), they unexpectedly come across a link to their own pasts and the secret their parents took with them when they disappeared. The film was directed by Tommy Wirkola. Actresses Famke Janssen and Pihla Vitala co-star.

    Hansel & Gretel - Light and fun, but won't hurt your head.

    This movie has completely, and intentionally over the top semi-comedic action gore scenes from start to finish. The characters are fun, and well played. The plot is shallow, and simple, this is not a brain teaser movie. Nobody is going to say "This was a great movie". I think you need a decent plot for that. But, if you're just wanting to be entertained for a few hours it has fun, funny, over the top action and silly-gore (Army of Darkness style). The dialog is not periodically accurate, it's modern, sarcastic action movie dialog in an odd non-existent period of history in some place where apparently Witches are a Bit of a problem. The time period is.....something like the late middle ages/Salem witch trial era....only some people have guns. kind of a mix of swords, and ...

    I was worried the unrated version would just have one or two extra scenes this was not the case at all it shows so much more of the story parts that should have been kept in to begin with they took an already great movie and made it awesome it’s worth the buy!!!

    There is are so many extra scenes in this underrated gem of a movie, that it is worth purchasing again be it because you are going from DVD to Blu Ray or simply because you want more of the fun!
