  • Another must own!

Friends of Hell (1983) by Witchfinder General is another album that I highly recommend that any doom metalhead should own. The tracks, in some way were a little more in depth and longer than they were in Death Penalty (1982). Some of the tracks were a little slower, as well. But very enjoyable to listen to. Again, I highly recommend this album, especially if you’re (or getting) into doom metal.

  • Witchfinder General - 'Friends Of Hell' (Heavy Metal)

I give this one 4 1/2 stars, as well. Witchfinder General's 1983 worthy follow-up to 'Death Penalty' (see my review) and every bit as good. Tunes that make this import CD a keeper are "Love On Smack", the in-your-face title track "Friends Of Hell", the memorable "Requiem Youth" and the heavy-duty "Shadowed Images". An underground classic, to say the very least.

  • convenient , good stuff

Been a fan since 1982 . Now , finally I can listen much more easily ! Just pop in the disk and ENJOY ! Now I don't have to worry about scratching my VINTAGE LP's . So happy ( btw , I own original year of issue copies of the first two albums

  • It.Was.Neat.

Bought their first album about a year ago. Loved it so much, that 70's style vocal with riffing that suited so well! Over the top vocals with pinching squeals! "Friends of Hell" had much better heavy riffs, they seem to bleed through each song though, a lot of hammer-on's. His vocals calmed down and grew into a much more expected Ozzy-style. Lyrics were even cooler in this record though!
