  • Just like every other 1970's horror film - don't buy the hype.

After watching a preview for this movie, it looked like something I would really enjoy. I thought about buying the old DVD (not the remastered "Criterion" version) for a few bucks, but after reading a few online reviews that boasted about the final-reveal & groundbreaking cinematics as a new benchmark for the genre, I just knew that I needed to get the 2-disc version ...then I discovered it was on Blu-Ray (as the "Criterion" version with all the extras) and decided I would fork-out the extra money for it. I watched it, and must point out that it was made in the 1970's, where the "mystique" of rapid editing spoke something different than it does today. • Suspenseful

Suspenseful film. Really well made and somewhat haunting and symbolic. The two leads put on great performances.

  • Don't believe that other user's review. Excellent product for an underrated movie!

Don't let that other user's review discourage you into buying this wonderful movie. Go on any other site and you'll find this movie to be highly rated and loved by fans and lovers of cinema in general. This is an underrated classic in my eyes as it is an important horror film from the '70s but it isn't talked as much to this day. Reading a brief synopsis of this movie will not prepare you for what lies in it due to Nicholas Roeg's direction and choice of editing. Without giving much away every 20 minutes you are thrown off balance in a sense of knowing what's to come and keep on guessing in terms of editing and scene flow. As for the Criterion itself, it is loaded with features to keep any newcomer intrigued about the film and any fan thrilled to learn more. Presentation is excellent as ...

  • ALL-TIME GREAT HORROR/THRILLER CLASSIC!!!

Not going to get into what the movie is about, as most people can do that online. This movie is beautifully shot and looks amazing on blu-ray. Criterion did a fantastic job with it and comes with over 3 hours of extras.
