Had my original body for almost 10 years, the imaging sensor went out on it and it cost less to get this body to replace it then to have it repaired! The picture quality of this body is excellent, almost better than my other one ever was, even new! Having 4 extra lens' for this body has really made getting this body so worth it, I was afraid that it would be poor condition, but wow, I can not say enough how happy I am to have found this gem.Had my original body for almost 10 years, the imaging sensor went out on it and it cost less to get this body to replace it then to have it repaired! The smallest, lightest SLR.
I am a Nikon man and have been for many years, having possessed over 20 Nikons. I cannot abide point ant shoots due to their tiny sensors and inferior performance, but occasionally we need to have a lightweight camera if hiking or travelling light. We tried the Nikon D40. Two of us liked it but I did not as I felt it was too heavy and bulky. (I used to like the Nikon Pronea S with its tiny lenses for this reason) I read the spec. of the E410 and it's lenses and was intrigued by it's light weight and small size. I have always liked Olympus as a good second to Nikon so we bought it. The performance is outstanding! The four thirds system performance is almost indistinguishable from APS-C. It's high ISO performance matches that of the D40 and the results in good light at ISO 400 surpass that ... I am a Nikon man and have been for many years, having possessed over 20 Nikons. The only weakness with this camera is it's flash performance in comparison to Nikon Otherwise highly recommended!

Perfect Art School Camera
I've wanted an SLR digital for years, but price kept me away. I'm not a professional photographer, but I often have to shoot pictures for work and documentation and I just love shooting. This camera made everything I shot way better right out of the box. I'd been using a Kodak with manual controls and a fixed lens, which was good preparation for this in trying to push it as hard as I could to get decent pictures. I love looking through the lens to shoot, I love the speed of the auto focus (when you pre-focus, it's shooting speed is amazingly fast. Shooting at very fast filmspeeds (dark, indoor) produces quite a bit of noise, but twilight images are wonderful. The two lenses are perfect for my needs. Worst thing about the camera is the lens caps--they pop off too easily. The 10mp aspect ... I've wanted an SLR digital for years, but price kept me away. I can shoot one-handed with my left hand which I do when driving (I know, I shouldn't, but I get my best pictures that way.) I don't use the live lcd screen except for shooting text. It just slows things down. It might be useful for studio portraits or still life shots, but is kind of redundant on an SLR. The controls took me a couple of days to get comfortable with, but are very natural for me now. In a quickly developing situation, you can always shoot auto. My friends are raving about my pictures, which has never been the case before. I think this is a great camera for someone who wants to get more serious about photography but has a small budget. The perfect art school camera.

When I received the camera it looked a little complex for my level of photo taking. With the help of the Quick Start instructions it was easier than I thought. The camera is light and easy to handle although I believe that if someone has larger hands it could be a problem to hold while shooting. It takes great photos and they are very easy to download to the computer. Although I am still learning all of its features and how best to use them I really like the Olympus Evolt E-410.
