    Excellent WW2 espianage thriller, with the always reliable James Garner in the lead and a host of excellent character actors helping out.. B & W adds to the texture and feel for that time period.

    36 Hours - James Garner

    This is one of my all-time favorite films. Fortunately, we use to live near a video store where you can rent old films like this and enjoy the creative story whenever we choose. The main plot of this story, along with the various subplots, held my interest from the beginning. After seeing the film just once, I could recall so many of the details because the film is just THAT GOOD! It is a well-casted film and one that I wish would be shown on TV (I can't recall the last time it was) so that others could become aware of this really suspenseful film. I've bought this movie for my kids and my wife to see because it hasn't been televised and I wanted them to be able to experience the same riveting viewing experience that I've enjoyed so many times.

    A MOST ENGAGING AND ENTERTAINING MOVIE

    Between being a fan of Jim Garner, an avid student of WW II, a student of the Allies' successful intelligence endeavor of "Operation Fortitude" to keep the Germans guessing as to the actual date and location of the D - Day Landings and "Overlord", "36 Hours" is a most engaging and entertaining movie.     36 hours

    This is an excellent movie about espionage during WWII. Now, I have no idea if the Germans ever actually attempted anything like this, but it really gets you thinking about those who spy on and for our countries. It really makes you think about how fragile the human psyche is, and how easy it is to trick us, and how quickly we are willing to believe things are normal. A great suspense movie with many surprising twists and turns. This movie also has some big name actors, so the acting is topnotch.

    Interesting movie with a little twist.

    Saw this movie years ago and I remembered--except the title. I finally looked it up and bought it. A friend of mine and I watched it together and loved it. lent it to a friend who read the summary. It's an interesting addition to WWII movies since the perspective is different.
