Part Grand Theft Auto, part City of Heroes, Crackdown is a freeform action game set in a futuristic, crime-ridden metropolis known as Pacific City. As one of eight operatives from a law enforcement branch known as the "Agency," players seek to stop three dominant gangs and their leaders by undertaking a series of missions, side quests, and mini-games. Players control a genetically enhanced agent as they fight back against those who threaten to overtake the city and terrorize its citizens. Viewed from a third-person perspective, Crackdown offers a sprawling environment filled with vehicles, pedestrians, towering structures, high-tech weapons, and non-linear objectives.<br><br>As each agent traverses the city on foot, in a vehicle, or by other means of transport, he will receive updates from the Agency's headquarters, allowing him to quickly respond to developing situations displayed on an on-screen map. Since each agent is designed by science to evolve, players will be able to increase their character's skills in driving, firearms use, and explosives, as well as his attributes in areas such as strength and agility. Skills are primarily developed by performing the actions associated with them, and over time, players will be able to initiate superhuman feats such as lifting and throwing cars, leaping across rooftops, and more. Crackdown also supports two-player cooperative action via system link and Xbox Live.

    Kinda boring now

    As much as I absolutely loved Crackdown when it came out back in the mid-late 2000s, the game has honestly just aged kind of poorly. The graphics aren't great. The controls are decently buggy. The story is simple - "You're supercop/robocop. See those gangsters? Kill em. All of em. Then when their boss gets mad you killed em all, go kill him. Do that 4 times and the big gang guy comes out. Kill him. You win! Oh and also, jump everywhere. Lots of jumping." If that sounds cool to you still, you'll probably go absolutely nuts for this game, but if not, then I wouldn't expect anything different than what I just said.

    Good game.

    Pros: - Large, wide open map so you can spend a bunch of time just exploring if you'd like. - Interesting concept and plays a lot like the Spiderman 2 game for original xbox; you not only spend a lot of time exploring the map on the ground, but on top of the buildings as well. - Wide variety of weapons, including proximity charges (which work sort of like land mines) or the harpoon which is fun to use. You can get an achievement for harpooning 4 enemies to one car. - There's enough things to do to keep you busy for a little while and a ton of achievements to unlock if you choose to pursue them. - The game is very fluid and the controls are easy to use.     pretty shallow, but very fun...

    This game is pretty short. Let's get that out of the way now. Despite having to defeat 21 crime bosses throughout a gang-ridden city, this does not take long and I beat the game in only about 8 hours of playtime. The good news is that it was a pretty darn fun 8 hours. Your character is an experimental new police officer who evolves quickly, and basically has super powers. As you use different talents, the more you develop. For example, if you use your guns more than anything else, you will aim better sooner, where as if you fight with your bare hands, you will get stronger faster. This is where the fun comes in. As you evolve, you jump higher, run faster, and get much, much stronger. By the time you max out your skills, you are scaling massive buildings, lifting buses over your ...

    the fun thing about crackdown is the fact that you are the good guys in this game of kill or be killed justice! your kinda like a super cop with super abbilities that you can upgrade from kills or collecting orbs around the city. abilities such as STRENGTH: lift increasingly heavyer objects from bricks to cars!
