An Outstanding Jazz Amplifier
It's a shame that Fender stopped making these amplifiers, because this is a beautiful, versatile, and (as the name suggests) very lightweight amplifier with extraordinarily clean sound and lots of power, perfectly matched with a Jensen 12" speaker in a tough Italian poplar closed-back cabinet. The whole package weighs only about 17 pounds, which makes it very easy to transport. The amp has a nice combination of controls and effects for this amp's intended use - one clean, one intended for overdrive. Two rows of controls allow separate control of each channel’s effects (for each channel, there are controls for chorus, chorus + delay, chorus + reverb, flanger, tremolo, vibrato, delay, reverb, and reverb + delay), plus an "Effects Level" knob to dial in how much you want the selected effects ... The amplifier covers a lot of territory from pure clean sound of your guitar to a good range of "tube-like" tones through the overdrive channel (but don't expect too much - this is a solid-state amp, and was designed primarily to produce classic jazz tone). The "Tuner/Mute" button cuts the audio output to allow silent tuning, the "Tuner Out" jack allows a tuner to be left plugged in, and the front panel has a 1/4" headphone jack (headphones automatically disable the speaker output for silent practice). The amplifier and cabinet fit together with magnets and dimples in the top of the cabinet (matching the feet on the amp) that safely hold the amp and cabinet together with minimal fuss. The amp can't do everything, and wasn't designed to be all things to all users, but I have never seen a bad review of this amplifier and cabinet combination. It produces 250 watts and a lot of volume through the 2-ohm cabinet; with a 4-ohm or 8-ohm speaker it will produce less power. They are not always easy to find - I was looking for one for several weeks before this one appeared on ebay, and there are rarely more than one or two listed at a time. Fender never made that many of these amps and, now that I have this one, I'm not letting it go.

As a working musician playing 150+ shows a year I have a pretty good background with gear. This little amp I read about a couple of years ago and decided I would buy one. They are hard to find and were not in production very long. Saw another guitarist with one and was blown away by the sound. I am currently using it with the 8 ohm Eminence EJ1250 speaker cube and it is awesome. I play Les Pauls, Strats and my Martin acoustics through it and all sound great! I think I should buy another as a back up although there have been no problems with this one.
