Best ultralight reel for the money
Took it first time trout fishing. Caught over 16 trout and some were in the 18 inch range. With 2lb izorline and the smooth drag , I never broke a fish off...also won 1000 dollars off 2 tag fish. If you looking for a good ultralight reel the Symetre 500 is all you need.

Bad Bail
Getting right to it, after you trigger the bail then begin to reel which closes the bail this is where a very bad problem occurs, the bail is much to hard to close. If I cast and see that I'm throwing long I quickly close the bail to stop from over throwing.... this reel is so hard to close I cannot do that so I overthrow. Other than that the reel is good, it retrieves very smoothly.

Great reel
I'm a big fan of Shimano fishing reels. This one will replace one I have used for 25 years. The only gripe I have is the unavailability of this model with rear drag. Apparently they don't make them anymore. I feel like I got this one at a fair price and it arrived right away. Can't wait to use it this month.
