About this product

Product Information

Two retiring show people start up a New England country inn with the unique and, one would think, self-defeating idea of being open only on national holidays; however, in this delightful fluff-fest, they achieve instantaneous success. Conflicts arise when they fall for the same woman, and sparks fly -as do their feet - in a variety of inventive, holiday themed song-and-dance productions. Perhaps the best film ever inspired by a song. Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" was introduced in this film.

    Good fun, while leaving you happy to be alive.

    Holiday Inn is one of those must see holiday movies. It's about boy meets girl, boy looses girl, finds another girl, best friend finds his girl, steals his girl, goes after girl, and gets her back. With that said, the movie is funny, filled with real life emotions while dating. Bing Crosby voice and acting are superb, Fred Astaire dances up a storm, even while drunk. The two female roles also add greatly to the story depicting, ambition over love and love over pride.

    You can see more of the movie...

    You can see more of the movie, "Holiday Inn,"when you watch the colorized version! Little visual details which are not usually noticed in the original black and white version will suddenly stand out in the colorized version! That only adds to an already fun and entertaining film, which, by the way, introduced Irving Berlin's "White Christmas," to the world for the first time. And that's only one of the great songs in the soundtrack! I highly recommended this DVD/CD set.

    Holiday Inn and in COLOR now too! Christmas & Bing!

    I am a Grandma who loves everything about Christmas. I especially love to watch great clean Christmas movies and I have watched hundreds of them. This movie is my #3 favorite Christmas movie in my top 100 Christmas movies. I have watched this favorite for many years and always imagined what it would look like in color, well imagine no more, it's now available! Holiday Inn stars Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire star as two pals in the song and dance business who are competing to win the favor of the same leading lady. A charming country inn, songs that you will hum for days after watching it, love is in the air, and Bing singing I'm dreaming of a White Christmas...(sigh)...it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

    One of our favorites, now in color!

    My wife and I have always loved Holiday Inn and decided to buy it on DVD for Christmas this year. We were pleased to see this edition with the bonus colorized version and the CD, which my wife just loves. I'm not a fan of colorization but this is done quite well, with a bonus segment on the research they did into getting the colors just right including getting Edith Head's original wardrobe sketches and designs. The plot has been outlined by others here. Suffice to say that it's somewhat corny but representative of the time in which it was made. The idea for an inn open only on holidays allows for plenty of great holiday-themed Irving Berlin songs including "Happy Holidays", "In Your Easter Bonnet", and the debut of "White Christmas" (a good trivia question to use on your friends who ...

    Incredible 3 Disc Set, Hours of Great Entertainment!

    The main reason I bought the item is because I Love Bing Crosby, His Music and Movies. I like that fact that you get the Original Black and White Holiday Inn Movie on one Disc and the new Color Version of the movie on another. This is great because I have Vintage B/W T V's and Vintage Color T V's so I have a disc for each. A added Plus is you also get the Holiday Inn Movie Soundtrack on a seperate CD Disc, I love that because I can take the Music of the movie with me anywhere and listen to it. There is Nothing that I dislike about this item.
