About this product

Product Information

EA Games makes an offer it hopes fans of Mafioso mythology cannot refuse, in this video game translation of the award-winning 1972 Francis Ford Coppola film. Players take the role of a small-time thug, newly inducted into the Corleone family and looking to make it big. By running missions for the family in the game's rendition of 1940s New York City, players can earn the respect of the family and be promoted to positions of power and influence in the organization. The game is designed to track the player's decisions and interactions throughout the criminal career, such that NPCs will remember how they were treated in the past and react appropriately in future dealings. In order to encourage players to truly take on the role of their own Corleone henchman, EA Games' The Godfather offers a "MobFace" custom character creator which allows for adjustment of physique, facial features, and attire. All other major characters featured in the game are voiced by the actors who played them in the movie, including Marlon Brando (posthumously) as Don Vito Corleone, James Caan as Sonny Corleone, and Robert Duvall as consigliore Tom Hagen.

    Fun game, for older systems

I played the first Godfather on the original Xbox, a long time ago, so revisiting it on Xbox 360 and PS3 has been fun. The graphics are better and there are enhancements to game play. The Xbox 360 version is somewhere between the first Xbox original and the very much changed/upgraded PS3 version. Overall, its an engaging, fun period game that celebrates the Godfather legend. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoyed the films.

  • GTA 1940's style

I never have been a fan of the Godfather movies. In fact, I couldn't get myself to sit through it. Just something about them that turns me off. I guess my feelings can best be summed up from Peter Griffin when he said he didn't care for the movie because "it insisted upon itself". As for the game, that is a different story. I love GTA style games, so I figured I would give it a try. For the most part, I found the game enjoyable and fun, but really nothing to write home about. The graphics are decent, but not much better from what you would see on the original Xbox. There is limited variety to the character and car models. The world looks the same and it is a little hard to differenciate the neighborhoods from each other. Considering this is a port from the Xbox, it looks like the ...

  • welcome to the mafia

Great game. You actually feel like you're one of the italian men as you execute the missions and climb up the mafia ladder.Great jogability and it keeps itself updated to real time day (if it's new year, you have to execute missions according to that and you can actually hear fireworks and stuff. Besides that thre's also the quality of graphics that permits you to see blood, wounds, etc. as you hurt somebody. Great game overall.

  • Cool Mob Game

I thought this was going to be another game that ripped off Grand Theft Auto when I bought this game. It does a little, but only a little. This game, though, adds so much more. It has all the cool things from the Godfather Trilogy whether it's carrying out a hit on a rival family, paying bribes to G-Men and cops, or influencing store and hotel owners that they need your protection for a fee. You can go along with what the agenda is or you can go and try to obtain more businesses and racketeering ventures. And what's really cool about the game is that for each time you kill a member of a rival family, they keep a vendetta out on you. If you kill too many members of the same family, then a mob war starts. The only way to end the mob war (and win anyway) is to bribe a G-Men or bomb a ...

  • The Godfather

I bought this game for the XBOX 360. The game follows the same story line as the movie. The characters in the game also look similar to the actors who played them in the movie(except Al Pacino). The only dislike is that EA (creators of the game)try to make you buy the fourth tier of the weapons in the game. You are given three levels of weapons that are already included in the game and they are free but for some reason EA tries to make you buy the fourth level which as I have said is already in the game. I have found out that this only happens in the xbox 360 version but in any case that is the only downfall that I have seen. I bought this game because I had played it before and I really enjoyed it. I would Reccommend this game to anyone but just bear in mind EA is going to try to ...
