About this product

Product Information

It's survival of the fittest in The Adventures of Darwin, a Pikmin-style strategy game that involves guiding a group of primates in an attempt to "evolve" into cavemen before a cataclysmic event destroys their world. As the leader Darwin, you must order the tribe to explore the surrounding wilderness looking for food, raw materials, and tools while avoiding predators such as tigers, vultures, gators, and other creatures. Expanding the tribe is a matter of finding stars within each region, and acquiring tools such as axes, spears, and ladders will help players solve puzzles and open up previously inaccessible areas. Since the game does not feature a time limit, players are free to explore at their own pace, earning experience points and returning to previously visited areas to discover new entries for Darwin's "picture book" or catalog. Over time, players will unlock new abilities for their tribe and upgrade their humble village to include a trading post, mess hall, training grounds, and more.

  • Science is coooool!

I bought this game because I'm a self-proclaimed science-nerd who is very interested in the science behind evolution. In saying that, I realize this game is geared more for younger players, but my boyfriend is a huge gamer and I am not, so I thought I would start with something meant more for beginners. I loved the concept of this game. You start out as a monkey and you go out into the world to collect fruit, rocks and trees (for weapons), and hunt animals (for meat). Then you bring everything back to your village to build the village, make your weapons, and increase your population. As you do this you evolve from monkey, to cave man, to human and you are able to take a larger and larger tribe with you every time you back out into the world. You also begin to build your village, ...
