A Classic Handheld Shooter
The original Contra is arguably the king of the early 8-bit action shooters. If you have any passing interest in the genre at all, and have ever owned a Nintendo, you have probably played it. Consider this game to be its little brother. Operation C is basically a shorter version of the original classic, and it includes everything that made that game great. As usual, the objective is simple: Destroy the alien soldier forces and save the planet. All of the old favorite power-ups are included, along with a few new ones, and the run, jump, and shoot action is almost identical. If you have a GameBoy that will play old-style cartridges, and have any interest in the Contra series, then this title is highly recommended. The best run-n-gun on Gameboy
This iteration of Contra pretty much nails everything you like about the 2 NES games, being somewhat based on Super Contra. The music is great, controls are great, graphics are great. The game is much easier than the NES counterparts, which could be a good or bad thing depending on your taste.
