    Superior cutting and edge retention.

    Maxamet holds the edge better than other knives, and due to this care must be taken in humid conditions otherwise surface rust will occur, this is not stainless steel. It is a little stiff and awkward for one hand opening, I would prefer a small protrusion on the blade fr easier finger flick to improve this.

    Maxamet native 5

    Well I bought one used and unfortunately it had blue dyed handle scales (voiding warranty) and the edge was horrible,after hours and hours of trying to reprofile the edge and put a hair popping edge on with failure I gave up lol just hope spyderco will still sharpen the blade for me because it is some tuff steel and how it went dull in first place boggles my mind lol this is hard-use knife at its finest yet lightweight and tuff you cannot go wrong purchasing new w/warranty which I still may do!

    most excellent

    excellent steel and very lightweight. Nice pocket knife when clip removed. Weight not noticed when pocketed. If you want to sharpen it have diamond stones. Takes a polished razors edge. Blade will tarnish/patina as this steel is not stainless.
