The guy in charge of the physics lab at my college recommended this to me. I'm very picky about good writing and am trying to broaden my vocabulary. I had to refer to the dictionary every 3 or 4 pages, which was good. The book did an amazing job of pulling together the politics and science that lead up to the atomic bomb. It's written so that someone with a high school understanding of physics won't miss anything.
