The Drop (Blu-ray Disc, 2015)
I didn't know what to expect with this movie because although it got rave reviews from critics it also dropped out of the movies really quick. For those who say that the movie was about a dog, it was not. This movie was well paced, very well acted, written, and directed. Above all else, it kept me glued to the screen. The characters (even the dog) were totally engrossing. Tom Hardy was amazing as Bob. You got the sense that the guy was in fact "the one you never see coming." I believe this is Tom's best acting job so far. James Gandolfini as Cousin Marv does more with a gesture of the eyes than most actors will ever be able to do. This guy was born to play a "Marv" type of character. Noomi Rapace as Nadia has you wondering just how damaged and crazy is this ... Every time he was on the screen you just new that there was danger afoot. This isn't easy to do with just your body, but Matthias does it with a natural ease. This cast was in a word, "SUPERB." Get this movie for your collection! You won't be sorry.
