About this product

Product Information

The Sega Game Gear Blue Handheld System was introduced in 1991 and heated up the competition in handheld gaming systems. It uses the 8-bit, 3.5MHz Zilog Z80 processor to ensure quick and error-free performance, and its screen supports 4,096 colors. The resolution is 160 by 144 pixels, which produces crisp images on the handheld. The Game Gear console has a fully backlit screen, making it easy to navigate through every game. This Sega System gear also provides up to 32 colors on the screen at once, offering a great visual display for your games. If you are nearsighted, this blue Game Gear product by Sega features a magnifier option. This allows you to zoom in on the LCD screen for a mega-close experience. The audio on this Sega Game Gear game setup can be adjusted using the switch on the side. If you wish, you can also use the 3.5-millimeter jack on the Game Gear console and attach your headphones for personal listening. If you saved your Sega Game Gear cartridges from the 1990s, you will be all set with this Game Gear system. You can also use an adapter for this video game console and play games originally made for the Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, and Sega Master Systems. The Sega Game Gear system has a hard drive that includes 8KB of RAM and 16KB of VRAM. This system uses six AA batteries that allow you to take it on a car trip or long plane ride. The battery life of the Game Gear is three to five hours, depending on which game you play. You can also use the adapter to plug it into the wall for battery-free use. This Sega gaming gear measures 8.2 inches long by 3.9 inches wide and 1.5 inches thick, making it comfortable to hold. The screen is 3.2 square inches. The Sega Game Gear accessories weigh 11.2 ounces. The whole family can enjoy this Game Gear equipment since it’s designed for people ages seven and older. More than 300 titles are available for use on this vintage Sega video gaming product.

My favorite handheld besides the gba and nomad!

I got the game gear recently and I love the thing. The collection of games I get will definitely grow! Make sure if buying one that its recapped or see if you can get it recapped after you buy it! (Like I did) The old capacitors are fish caps as I like to call them (since they where filled with fish oil) and they leak which is 90% of the time why a game gear isn't working like it should,

  • Super Great Color Addition to the Classic Game Gear!

This is a system that was ahead of its time. Nitendo's success of the late 80's was something all game companies scrabled to get in on. Sega failed with the Mastersystem, but gained ground with the genisis. Nintendo came out with the Gameboy, black and white, but portable, and nintendo expanded their power. Sega fought back with this, The game gear, a color portable system. Far superior to the game boy, which acutally took about another 5 years to even get a color version out, Game gear delivered quality graphic. Unfortunately, it was a little more expensive, and the marketing was less than the jaugernaut of nitendo. Many of the game companies made deals for their best games with nintendo, but this system did ok, and does have a good number of games available for it. I liked this system, ...
