Fairy tales come alive in this anime that is part SAILOR MOON, part Brothers Grimm. When a prince from an unfinished story sacrifices his heart to continue his quest, he inadvertently charms the author of the tale into returning him from his grave to continue with the narrative. Instead of writing the ending, however, the author transforms a duck into a pretty ballerina with the alter ego of a princess destined to save the prince's heart. It's a strange and charming tale that merges classic children's stories with an anime twist.

    ~*~~Princess Tutu~~*~

    Ahiru (duck) is an aspiring ballerina, with a huge crush on the "Prince" of the school. But Ahiru is shy and clumsy, and the worst Ballerina in her class. That is until her Prince comes into danger and she transforms into the beautiful Princess Tutu to save him. From then on Ahiru becomes Princess Tutu to fight off the minions of an evil queen who also loves the Prince. It's a wonderful story, often told by Drosselmeyer. Who is quite frankly, scary. Ahiru goes through a lot of trouble to get her Prince's attention, but he is a total space-case. And then there's his buddy Fakir, who will protect him at all costs, even if he has to fight off Tutu herself. The dance scenes can be a little corny, but that doesn't take anything away from great story telling. Its fun to watch Ahiru get better ...

    Great anime fr both young and old.

    I promised my daughter (8yo) that I would get this set for her if she raised her math grade up on her report card. She did and we ordered it. Even though we have both seen the entire series before it is a great favorite that I know we will both come back to over and over again. The story is very good and an interesting concept, one that hasn't been done before. The music is EXCELLENT. The classical themes and the correct dances for them really help to open up the mind and enjoy the ballet styles without having to go to the ballet.

    Amazing

    Princess TuTu is a Wonderful and amazing series I love the twists and the fact that princess Tutu is in fact a Duck. the only thing i disliked was that I was expecting a bit more, don't get me wrong its a great Anime one of the Best, but it sort of left me hanging.

    Awesome

    I love the DVD but I can't watch it on my TV only on my computer. But Everything went perfectly, didn't have to wait long for my DVD to be delivered.
