    Save your cam and tappets.

    The new oils are lacking of an additive called ZDDP. It is said that ZDDP contaminates the air and more, that’s why was removed from conventional oils. This additive prevents metal wear on high pressure contact parts as tappets, cam lobes and cam gears. If you will be breaking in a new engine or your engine has extra strong valve springs you must add this additive to your oil to prevent the destruction of your cam and tappets.

    One of the Best Zinc Supplements Available

    I recently bought a Comp Camshaft and naturally also bought the (absolutely necessary) Comp Cams Zinc Additive to prevent damage during the critical first half hour of run-in. So far so good. Also, I thought of it as being good insurance in case of cam failure......at least they couldn't blame the zinc additive :)

    very needed with new cams.

    Using it on a rebuilt upper gasket and pushrod replacement as well. New oils do Not have any means of reducing galling or over rapid cam lobe wear at break-in's. (Govt regulations)
