Very rugged document chest
It's large enough to hold all of my documents. Very rugged. Weighs around 46 lbs with my documents included. Definitely too heavy to lug around. I only purchased this to protect my documents in case of fire. The only minor downside, is that the manufacture recommends it be laid flat, which requires substantial space, as opposed e.g. having it sit upright in a closet. It's too heavy for some family members to be able to move, so bear this in mind when finding the idea spot to place it. It's not meant as a security chest to store valuables, so I have the key fastened onto the handle, and just leave the key always in the lock in the closed position.It's large enough to hold all of my documents. Attache-case shaped FIREPROOF Document Box.
This is the only product in the category able to store two 12 inch by 12 inch by 4 inch spine 3 Ring binders for WILLS and TRUSTS. NO Other Fireproof Document Box will even hold a 3 ring binder! It is rather heavy, but I do not anticipate moving it very often. IT HAS KEYS! I do not want a combination Dial document box when I die because the bloody thing would never get opened! Love the handle for easy transport. It is heavy but suits our needs. Important documents can lay flat and there is a lot of room. Looks sturdy and hopefully, will never need to find out how fireproof or water resistant the case is.

Does everything I wanted it to . . .
I needed some way to store documents my stepdaughter would need in case of my suffering a catastrophic illness or death. I still have a safe deposit box for valuables and other important documents (titles and deeds) she would not need to be easily accessible. This fit the bill. I have both my will and both the power of attorney (which I do not want her to have while I'm still mentally competent and fairly healthy) and healthcare power of attorney. It's fairly heavy. It takes both of my hands to open the lid, but while that is a little inconvenient, it gives me a lot of confidence in its ability to do its job.
