About this product

Product Information

By having a desktop recording studio, which a person can plug into a computer, makes recording music, sound, and audio so simple; the Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface makes this possible. Users take advantage of the 2x2x2 USB I/O mixer, which gets its power from the USB bus. You can connect to the one-fourth balanced line inputs and the XLR inputs constantly, while the user also monitors from the front panel, and controls output levels. The front panel of this recording studio has a one-eighth headphone amplifier output that will work with all types of headphones and a Hi-Z instrument input. The audio device has 48 tracks of tracking, is compatible with Rewire 2 and a VST system, and allows up to eight VST instruments, such as a compatible guitar. There are six reverb types, and 35 factory presets from which to choose. Per reverb type, the interface’s users can edit 16 parameters. The Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface is a USB system with a two-channel USB interface. There is one mic input in the USB bus powered device. Users take advantage of two TRS line inputs, zero-latency monitoring, and 2 RCA and TRS line outs. Users can record up to two tracks at once with this audio recording device. This is thanks to it having four inputs and superior hardware. There are stereo line inputs for drum machines, keyboards, or a CD/MP3 player analog output. Both unbalanced and balanced signals are accepted by the TRS-active balanced RF-filtered inputs. This USB audio device has balanced XLR inputs with its low-noise mix preamp. For an electric guitar or a bass guitar, there is a high-impedance front panel input. The Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface has the line level input and mix controls separately and both have individual peak indicators, allowing for better control of music and audio. Balance an audio source between the playback mix level and live input, by easily monitoring the mix control when using the device to record. Users can easily switch to either mono or stereo. Use any type of headphones with the Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface and enjoy ultra-clear fidelity, thanks to the high-powered headphone amp. This is because the amp provides enough power for the headphones. Easily enjoy speaker monitoring thanks to the line outputs on the device, to enjoy greater control when recording sounds, audio, and music. Those using the Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface to record a variety of sounds and audio, including MIDI, can use it almost anywhere. There is no power supply, so no need to find an outlet to use it. Simply plug the unit into a laptop computer to power it with the USB cable that comes with it. This is ideal for those who want to record things like live concerts. The Lexicon Alpha Digital Recording Interface comes with a Lexicon Pantheon VST reverb Plug-in and Steinburg Cubase LE record/editing software. Users will effortlessly record sound and audio, edit, and mix with the Cubase software and other features. Make music, add audio and sound to videos, or record things like podcasts with a compatible microphone.

    Works on Linux

This device works out-of-box on Ubuntu 16+. The stereo/mono switch is invaluable when monitoring mono sources like guitars and vocals. I haven't used it enough to have an opinion on the preamp, but it sounds much cleaner than my previous M-Audio interface. There is no phantom power that I can see, but I also haven't looked at the manual either. I have no idea what the bundled software is like, I just plugged it in a got started. I liked this interface so much I bought a second for a friend and installed it easily on a Dell laptop with Windows XP. Lexicon really captured the correct price-point with this item.

    Disappointment

The software on this unit is hard to install and instructions are vague. The registration process for the item takes several steps and is overly complicated. Most companies have you click a button and it takes you to the website or uploads registration. This one has you chasing things down in hard to find places to copy and paste serial numbers etc. Try not to buy this unless you have a software engineering degree and enjoy challenges

  • Waste of money

Inputs do not work. Tried every tech trick in the book. Only the outputs are functional. The programs also fail to work. Cubase keys are not operational. Even Senheiser themselves could not help.

  • Great interface

I needed this for a newer macbook that no longer has line in capabilities for recording. This is perfect for controlling the input levels.

  • Excellent value

Good sound/converters at a really great price. Not the highest quality components, but you can't beat the value and ease of use. Would buy again, easily.
