    About this product

    Product Information

The Celestron SkyMaster 15x70 is a fitting tool for the terrestrial and astronomical viewer. With large aperture and a Porro prism design that achieves 15x magnification, the skies are clearer and the hills are closer. The large 70mm objective lenses on this pair of binoculars offer high image brightness despite low-light and long range conditions. The lenses are multi-coated to deliver clear views of anything from mountains to celestial bodies, and even fit into Celestron‘s tripods for steady viewing. With eye relief of 18mm, you can comfortably set these large binoculars against your eyes without fear of hitting the ocular lens, and its sturdy construction gives you peace of mind. Combine the SkyMaster 15x70 with other products or simply use it on its own to get magnificent views of everything.

Celestron Skymaster 15x70 Binoculars with tripod adapter

I was pleased with the SkyMaster when it arrived. However, the adapter would not fit on my photography tripod and the plastic knob that screws the adapter to the binoculars broke off when I touched it. So now I have to use pliers to turn the end of the adapter screw to attach it to the binoculars. I also had to shave material off the adapter to get it to match up to tripod plate, Otherwise the binoculars are great for looking at the stars. It is heavy to hold and is difficult to look at the stars for any length of time because of the weight. I really have not had a chance to use my tripod yet.

Heavy and not good for close up

The binoculars are very heavy and are excellent for things out in the distance. The binoculars can not be focused for things 20 feet away. I use two pair to view birds. All birds are not in the air or in the top of trees. Some are on a tree limb only a few feet away. I wish I had not purchased these binoculars and do not recommend them.

      • robust and simple to use

it is light and quick to use, no set up time like with big telescopes , good for close planets and bright nebula like the one in orion.. , Grrreat for the moon and fast objects like the international space station, with strong arms you dont need a tripod with this, but some may want to use tripod, also good size aperature to gather light, wouldnt recommend for the fainter things out there

      • Celestron Skymaster binoculors

For the price, they are great binoculars for star gazing. Although a little large for hand-holding, they capture plenty of light in the dark so where you might see 5 stars with your eye, you will see many more around them using these. They come with a tripod adapter so I plan to get one and use for longer sky watching.

      • Price point bench mark

Wont beat out the high end Japanese and German big binocular offerings, but for the price it is pretty neat. I bought mine with collimation problems but within an hour it was perking along perfectly thanks to U-tube video on the Skymaster collimation process.
