Nuvi 260W comes fully equipped with a host of advanced navigation features. The navigator comes with City Navigator NT, an extensive map database of popular points of interest. These POIs include restaurants, hotels, gas stations, ATMs, and more. You can also save custom maps to the unit, including directions to school zones or airport terminals. The GPS provides proximity alerts when you're approaching POIs. While driving, you’ll receive spoken announcements detailing the name of exits and streets so you’ll never miss your turn. Getting started with navigation is easy: simply type your destination into the navigator’s entry fields. You can also select a favorite location from your saved places or view your log to choose a past destination. Once you’ve chosen your POI, the 260W displays 2D or 3D maps, allowing you to clearly see the route.     OUTSTANDING GPS!

    My 2nd Garmin Nuvi 260w. Purchased it for another vehicle. Really like that the unit is very easy to operate. Even novices can figure out how to operate it without having a tech person on speed dial. When I purchased my 1st one I didn't realize that it would have a calculator, currency exchange APP., etc., but I welcomed them. As a senior citizen, I would definitely recommend the 260w for anyone who needs a reliable and easy to use GPS.

    Good unit, but old maps.

    Battery lasted pretty long, about ten minutes. Unit acquired satellites in five minutes. Maps cost $50 to update. Next time, I will buy a new unit!

    Junk

    The GPS will not acquire a satellite. Placed next to an old model Xgody 704 GPS I drove 97 miles and the Garmin never saw a satellite. That seems to be the problem with this type GPS. I have two both sworn to be good and neither work. At least I have a power cord to charge the battery.
