        product does everything I previously envisioned it to do, i.e., record/view cable programs, record onto DVD's, and tie onto my security cameras. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

        Unit does not record

        I incorrectly assumed the DVD recorder would record. Turns out I was wrong. It plays some pre-recorded. I already own many DVD players. I know this may sound a bit childish of me but when I put out the money for a recorder I expect it to record!

        Lightweight with great features

        I love how easy it was to set up this DVD Recorder with HDMI. It does everything I had hoped for. The instruction manual was great. Shipping was super fast and the machine was packaged really well so it arrived in pristine condition. I am really happy with this purchase.

        The Sony RDR GX 257 is a really good unit with nice features .

        The Sony RDR GX 300 is a really good DVD Recorder , It does not have S-Video input's .
