      • Finding an old friend!

I first read this compelling book in 1979 or 1980. It left an indelible impact on my soul. This book is rich in description and history of the early years of these lands we call the United States, and Ruth Beebe Hill put her heart and soul into producing the highest level of integrity toward the early peoples, and their cultures. I had my copy for many years, and it was lost in a move, so I was delighted to find a copy to grace my bookshelves again. Welcome home, old friend, welcome home...

      • Take the time.

Being an old publication, there is wear on cover and pages, but for content it is incomparable. For anyone who wishes to know more about the Northwest Plains tribes, this book will give in detail and tempo the thinking process and philosophic strength of those who live in harmony with their existence. No words are wasteful and yet you will have a superfluous purview of those called "Indian". A glossary at the end of this historical journey lists many words and phrases, their meaning and pronunciation which gives an even greater understanding of Titonwan Lakotah (Sioux tribes).

      • American Indian history at its finest.

This is as good as it gets. This book should be made into a movie. Makes you understand the life struggles of the American Indian. You are there with them in this book. A++++++

It was in very good shape. The bottom edge of the spine was tore slightly but nothing that can't be fixed. Looks well kept. It was a gift to my husband who loves this book. He is happy with it.
