        Amazing female writers of so long ago reach amazing heights

        I've watched my own recording of this FIVE times, but wanted a professions DVS of it also. This filming is remarkable in many ways, and explains the living and work ethic of the sisters to achieve their goals in a time where female writers were not respected as were maile authors. Loved it like mad.

        Not to miss for Bronte fans.

        Every actor was well chosen for their role and each acts with authenticity. Costumes and sets are entirely appropriate to the time... no corners cut. Most importantly, it gives a fresh take, warts and all, on the lives of the Bronte family. Not to miss!

        A tale well told

        I found this sort of by accident and I am glad I did. While admittedly not a real fan of the books (thank you high school), I am fascinated by this family as people. If you love the Brontes on whatever level, this is worth checking out.

        To walk invisible

        I find this movie so engaging. The acting is superb by each of the characters. I don’t watch movies once or twice. I love rewatching them to catch everything I previously missed or because the story is so compelling.

        Older is better

        I prefer the movie starring Olivia De Havilland. This version was too "dramatic" for my enjoyment. Call me old fashioned but I don't enjoy too much agony and agonising.
