This science fiction movie depicts an unpleasant Los Angeles in November 2010. Replicants, which are genetically engineered robots that are visually identical to adult humans, are used for treacherous or boring work on off-earth colonies. Blade Runners are members of the police, who hunt down any replicants that disobey the ban and return to Earth. The all-star cast featured in this film includes Harrison Ford, Sean Young, Rutger Hauer, and Edward James Olmos. "Blade Runner – The Complete Collector's Edition" is rated R and has a runtime of 117 minutes. The 5-disc set includes the original release, the 1982 International Release, and the first version of the film. It also features the 1992 Director's edition and The Final Cut, which has cleaned-up visuals and audio. "Blade Runner – The Complete Collector's Edition" was nominated for, and won, numerous awards. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
When I first saw this on TV as a child, I thought it was boring. Later in my early college years I began to appreciate what a masterpiece this is. Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? What a concept for a title. Philip K. Dick was original. The score by Vangelis sets the mood and is unforgettable. This set is the ideal set since it includes many versions including the theatrical cut from 1982 and the Director's Cut from 1992. The International cut is the same as the US version with more graphic violence. There are a multitude of special features including deleted scenes, and many documentaries running over three hours long! I love the restoration that this movie deserves. I was disappointed by one thing only: The Final Cut is not complete on my set. The documentaries clearly showed new ... When I first saw this on TV as a child, I thought it was boring. The Workprint and Final Cut clearly did not have the finished restoration effects that were promised. So much hype and in the end they seemed to have forgotten to include them. I checked disc 1 (Final Cut) and 5 (Workprint); both are the same unfinished. Maybe the Final Cut Blu-ray edition from 2011 has the completed scenes. My favorite version will always be the Director's Cut because it includes the unicorn dream sequence. Take the Voight-Kampff test and put this cyberpunk classic in your collections if you are a replicant or a Blade Runner!

Has All The Generally Known Releases
Regardless of which version of 'Blade Runner' (the 1982 movie) you like most likely this 5 disk Blu Ray release will have it. (There are at least 5 'versions' of this movie ... most differ only slightly from each other.) Over the years I've collected 3 or 4 DVD releases of this movie and it seems that each will have at least one disk (in the multi-disk sets) that has a physical problem (I'm guessing when manufactured) to where the disk won't play all the way through. Much of the time though the 'bad disk' will be supplementary material and not the actual movie so it won't be too bothersome. I happen to like the 'International Version' of the original release and this 5 disk Blu Ray set has a good copy of it. This 5 disk Blu Ray release (as does the older 4 disk DVD (i.e. non-Blu Ray) ... Regardless of which version of 'Blade Runner' (the 1982 movie) you like most likely this 5 disk Blu Ray release will have it. In my copy of the 5 disk Blu Ray release there's something wrong with the behind-the-scenes disk but in my copy of the 4 disk DVD release it's OK so with both releases on-hand I have a good copy of everything.

One of the Only ways to get the Original Theatrical Version with the Voice-over Narration
It is very difficult to find the original theatrical release and this one has it. All of the delightfully campy Film Noir dialogue is there. It's fantastic. The best version of the movie and the hardest version to find.

If I had to pick what my favorite movie all time is: hands down for me it is Blade Runner. I can watch this anytime and find myself back at the drive-in where I first saw this movie with my Dad, Mom, and younger brother.
