        Portable weather radio has good price and delivery

        Despite living only a few miles from a major weather service location, I'm apparently in an area with poor reception for weather alerts as I've had poor reception with this and 3 other weather radios; so I cant comment on how well this weather radio receives alerts. I had similar issues with my cell phone when living elsewhere that was close to a cell tower. Perhaps the signal was going over my head. The set-up for the weather radio is well described in the accompanying literature, although it is a bit involved to get it right for the area of interest, so it doesn't pick up alerts outside the desired area. The unit seems well made and durable. I plan to use it when traveling away from home, and it should be good for that purpose.

        Not worth my money.

        This makes the third Oregon Scientific weather radio I have bought. Never again. My first one was Awesome. Lasted years. But it died. I bought another one from Oregon Scientific Store. It never did work right. Then I bought this one on eBay as it was new and in the package. Same story as with # 2. Does not work at all. A total waste of my money.

        Perfect size I was looking for

        I got just what I ordered. It was a bit difficult to understand but I think I have everything set now. I will probably never use the alarm so I didn't mess with it. It runs on an AC adapter or 3 AA batteries. It has a cradle for home use and a "holster" for when you are in the woods or wherever. I really like getting so many features in a unit this size. I have a bigger one for my bug out bag that has a hand crank, battery. solar, 12v (w/cord) and can charge by MINI usb. Great weather radio. I probably would not use an AM/FM radio if it had one. All the above for a great price, I couldn't believe I found just what I was looking for.

        Very nice after setting up

        Setting this up was quite frustrating since no teenager came with it help, but once set up it works great, It has gone through 2 Wednesday tests with flying colors, and working outside it allows you to function knowing that you will get the info you need when you need it, many nice features and well made...

        Once you GET IT SET UP; it does work good.

        I found it difficult to set up and still can't get the TIME SET on it. STORM WARNINGS come through very good. TWICE a WEEK it will go off for TEST MESSAGES. If you have a small child / pet or elder that loud sounds scare, make sure that you put it somewhere that YOU will hear, but be aware, when it goes off for an alert or test, it is loud. WE LIVE ON FLORIDA'S GULF COAST and have fast moving storms that just pop up that we like to be aware of. It is great for TORNADO, TROPICAL STORM AND HURRICANE ADVISORIES. THE PRICE IS FANTASTIC... WE BOUGHT TWO! PLUG IT IN FOR REGULAR CONTINUED USE OR WORKS ON BATTERIES WHEN POWER IS LOST!
