        Old School Panther is still a fun build

        The venerable Tamiya Ausf. A Panther has been around for decades. With advanced kits from other makers, it can seem almost toy-like, but done carefully, it is still a remarkable likeness of the era's best medium fighting tank. Take the time to close off the many see-through aperatures of the model (periscope covers, engine air intakes) by cementing flat plastic scrap to the underside of the hull before fixing the deck to the hull. Because the 75mm main gun is so prominent and so long, take the time to fill and eliminate seams; including the muzzle brake. Poke around in the scrapbox for extra tools and gear to bolt on. The jack, positioned between the exhausts, is particularly crude. A newer one is a good update. If you apply a clear flat overspray, the old kit decals are ...

        Directions weak

        Directions were not clear with the diagrams. Order of sub components could have been better explained and diaphragmed. A little confusing at times. Suspension bar installation is terrible. Insert bars loose then install the bars as you line up the side to the hull floor plate. Much easier.

        Good beginners build

        The Tamiya company make good models at affordable prices that are accurate to the time. The Panther model is a good build for beginners because there are not to many parts and the instructions are easy to read.

        Great Armor Kit

        Great Kit lots of detail and easy to follow instructions. It has one piece tracks that has pins you you must melt with a heated screwdriver. Easy to follow paint guide overall a great kit would go well with any armor diorama
