      It's enjoyable but it's not the top of the horror genre.

      "The Town that Dreaded Sundown" is not the same as the original but is a sequel [sort of]. Many years after the original story the same town is haunted by a copy-cat series of murders. That is the premise of this new version. It would have been more aptly titled: "The Town that Dreaded Sundown, Again" or "He's returned to the Town that Dreaded Sundown". For the most part all aspects of the film were done very well on a good budget. The authors of this script do offer some explanations that were never given in the original but, I think, that the original "The Town that Dreaded Sundown" was left open ended on purpose. This new "The Town that Dreaded Sundown" is nice to watch and is enjoyable for people that like horror films. But this version is not at the top of the horror genre. ...
