    Palmer-Hughes Accordion Lesson Course Books

    Very easy to follow and the lessons are laid out in consequential steps, where previous lessons are incorporated and thus reviewed. This course seems the most comprehensive, especially if you are trying to learn to play the piano accordion on your own. The course does assume however, that you have a basic knowledge of notes and scales as well as an instructor to explain any unfamiliar terms and correct your positioning.

    The collaboration between Bill Palmer and Bill Hughes (Palmer's student) began just before World War II. In the 1950s that partnership produced a ten-book course of piano accordion lessons, drills and training music. This course has stood the test of time as perhaps the best way to learn the piano accordion "from the ground up." The books begin with the absolute basics in Vol. 1, so no previous skill with the accordion is required.
