A beautiful smaller-than-usual "ring mandrel."
The shape is perfectly symmetrical; the finish is beautiful; it appears that the dimple at the small end has a hardened steel insert (not sure as I am not using this mandrel for its intended purpose). The edge of the dimpled end is slightly slanted (i.e., cross-section not filed exactly perpendicular to the main axis of the tool. Again, not sure if that is done on purpose for the intended use (some jewelry application, I believe). I am using this tool to create a flared shape in small copper tubing; so the dimpled end is not important to me. But if it needed to be perfectly flat I would simply file it flat. It has an indent to better grip with your hand. It came packaged in a padded envelope without damage. The pictures in the listing were accurate.
