Fantastic pedal at a great price!
I wasn't sure what to expect from this pedal. But when it arrived it looked really well-made I popped it open put a battery in it the circuitry look really clean. I owned a first-generation rat pedal in about 1978 and I wish I never sold it. This pedal solved that problem and then some. It has three different settings number one being the original Rat circuitry number two I believe it's the second generation in the third one I think is the turbo rat. They all sound fantastic! It's got that nasty rat sustain and bite and the noise floor is basically zero which was a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend this pedal to anybody who's looking for a rat pedal on a budget.I wasn't sure what to expect from this pedal. This pedal Screams!!! Best $35 bucks I’ve ever spent on Guitar gear! Only 2 of the 3 “modes” are usable- in my opinion - the 3 rd is just too “fuzzy” and notes are just indistinguishable- but the 2 are great! It sounds so good I bought a backup! I’ve paid over $200 dollars for overdrive/ distortion pedals that haven’t sounded this good. For reference - I demo’s it with my Vox AC-15 with a 1x12; Fender Blues Deville 4x10; and Blues Jr. 1x12 with hemp cone speaker - sounded great with all of them!!! Took aliterially a month to get here from HongKong - but worth the wait! Buy one before they figure out they can charge more!!! This pedal Screams!!! Best $35 bucks I’ve ever spent on Guitar gear! Fantastic pedal! Solid build, great sounds!
While shopping for a vintage Rat I decided to get one of these too, just for kicks. I thought that for the price there wasn't much to lose and I could probably recoup my costs and resell it if needed later. Now that I have this 'Super Rat' pedal I'm not letting it go. I probably have at least 20 distortion pedals and have been trying different types for years. This one has made it to my pedalboard and isn't coming back off! Nice design and cool look, a solid sturdy feel, LOTS of tonal variety using the toggle switch, gain and tone knobs, and killer distortion sounds!
