    For someone who cooks from scratch 5 nights a week and has two knife blocks filled with high quality knives, I was reluctant to buy another. However, since I seemed to use only one consistently, it was time. After 40 years of service, it was ready to retire. After visiting a couple knife stores, I kept going back to the 8” Shun. It fits well to the hand with just enough weight. Its smooth (almost elegant) slicing makes it a perfect utility knife, though most might not label it that. Happy to wait for a sale—it was worth it. 6 stars if I could. GM

    Awesome Chef Knife

    This knife is gorgeous and scary sharp out of the box. I also bought the matching premier pearing knife. The only two knives most will need for 90 % of prep work in the kitchen. Both stay very sharp. Just be careful not to chip by cutting bones or cutting on not wood cutting lards.

    Best knife ever

    I use several top end knives in my kitchen. This Shun cut thru meat and an apple like it was butter. I'm able to put a pretty decent edge on my other knives, but I've not been able to duplicate the cutting performance like this Shun. An Excellent knife and value

    this shun is simply a cut above

    shun has a feel for cut it likened one to this feeling it is very hard to describe accurately the only way one can really do that is for one to experience it for one self

    Nicely balanced and beautiful cutlery!

    Blade is super sharp so be careful. Slices through a tomato with precision and ease. My favorite along with the Zwilling.
