Beim Apple iPod Nano 7. Generation handelt es sich um einen 16 GB MP3-Player, welcher sich durch seine praktischen Maße von 3.96 x 7.65 x 0.53 cm, sein Gewicht von 31.19 Gramm mit Akku. Der Apple iPod in Grau verfügt über 16 GB integrierten Flash-Speicher und ist somit besonders für Sportler interessant, da beim anderen MP3-Playern mit integrierter Festplatte durch die Erschütterung, beispielsweise beim Joggen, Wiedergabefehler und -aussetzer auftreten können. Ein eingebautes Pedometer ermöglicht ferner die Schritte zu zählen und kann im Hintergrund bei gleichzeitiger Musikwiedergabe benutzt werden. Durch das 1.54-Zoll (6.35 cm) Touchdisplay des Apple iPod lässt sich das gewünschte Musikstück schnell und einfach durch Antippen auswählen. Es werden alle gängigen Musikformate wie zum Beispiel MP3, AAC, WAV, sowie Audible Hörbuch Dateien unterstützt. Des Weiteren hat das Gerät einen eingebauten FM Radiotuner, sodass es auch möglich ist Radio auf dem Apple iPod Nano zu empfangen. Durch einen Lithium Ion Rechargeable Akku kann mit dem Apple iPod bis zu 24 Stunden am Stück Musik genossen werden. Die Ladezeit bis zur vollständigen Aufladung beträgt dabei nur 3 Stunden. Um den 16 GB MP3-Player aus dem Hause Apple mit dem Computer zu verbinden und ihn mit neuer Musik zu bestücken verfügt er über einen USB 2.0 Anschluss.
