The outdoor enthusiast searching for a tough digital camera with great image quality, can welcome the Olympus Tough TG-2 iHS 12.0 MP Digital Camera with open arms. An upgrade from its’ predecessor, the TG-1, the TG-2 is constructed for adventure. This tough and compact camera is designed for a multitude of conditions, from underwater photography to low light action shots. Waterproof to 50 feet, the Olympus Tough TG-2 can be the perfect camera for that white water photo shoot. A built-in manometer can measure elevation and can also warn the user when the 50-foot underwater limit is being approached. A 12 MP sensor can ensure great photo resolution. The Olympus Tough TG-2 features a GPS that can lock onto a signal within 50 seconds. The camera offers a LED light that can be helpful when shooting in macro mode, and assists in capturing the detail of smaller subjects such as flowers. The optical 4x zoom lens can capture a wide field of view and its’ f/2 aperture can allow a considerable amount of light. The three inch rear facing video display screen utilizes OLED technology. This innovative system can offer greater resolution than the traditional LED type display, and can be thinner and lighter and also works without a backlight. The screen can be vivid enough for use out of doors even on sunny days. The Olympus Tough TG-2 supports aperture priority in which the aperture of the lens is chosen by the photographer and the shutter speed is automatic. The frames per second capability of the TG-2 can be impressive at 5.3 frames per second. Alternate high-speed shooting modes are available that drop the resolution, however allow the capture of 15 or 60 frames. In the world of rugged cameras, very few if any can match the Olympus TG-2 in this regard. Quick Time is the format used to record video and audio for the TG-2 camera; resolutions of 720p60 or 1080p60 may be selected. A double locking door protects many of the Olympus cameras’ capabilities such as the micro hdmi and usb ports. The card slot and battery compartment are also protected by the double locking door. Accessories and additional lenses are available for the TG-2 camera; among them are the fisheye converter lens and the teleconverter lens; both of these accessories are underwater safe. The majority of the cameras‘ controls are located close to the display screen. A video record button, the zoom toggle, a mode dial and a four way control are easily accessible to the user. The TG-2 restricts noise levels to below 1.5 percent through 1600 ISO. This can be a very impressive feature in the category of rugged compact cameras.     Olympus Tough TG-2 is Excellent Everyday Carry Point-and-Shoot

    Excellent point-and-shoot camera for general purpose use. I have already used the TG-2 quite a bit and it is doing a great job as an everyday carry camera for general purpose use. And I use it for everything photo-related. Phone cameras have amazing quality, I admit, but nothing is as easy to use as a point-and-shoot camera like this. And would you use your phone camera in a work environment that was full of dust, dirt, oil, moisture, and the like? That's why the Olympus Tough series is so important.

    Lots of bells and whistles and good pictures

    I'm looking forward to using this over the next year. It has all sorts of neat features. I haven't tried it under water yet, but it seems fairly easy to seal. I like that I can pick my 2 favorite set-ups and save them. This will allow me to play around with it more, knowing that I will be able to get to my standbys quickly and easily. It is a little bigger and slightly heavier than my other camera, but still fit in my pocket and wasn't too cumbersome. I did quite a bit of research before buying this model and I anticipate that I will continue to be happy with it. My main reason for buying this camera is for snorkeling on vacations, secondary is catching shots from the side of the soccer field.

    LOVE IT! Great camera with plenty of functions. The waterproof feature is awsome, it takes pics & vids to a whole new level. Nice pocket size makes it easy to carry.

    A great product - should be a lot of fun to use.

    A friend of mine had this camera and I liked what it could do - especially the underwater feature). I haven't used it too much and haven't had a chance to go underwater with it yet (too cold in New England this time of year - but it takes great pictures and has some really unusual features that are 'fun'!

    Great easy to use camera even under water.

    Great camera, works well under water and on land. Has some nice special fetures and is easy to hold and use. Bought it for a cruise and glad I did. This camera will be used often on a regular basis.
