    drop-in replacement.

    For me, this was to replace the same part number that the OEM used (5 years life). From a fit issue in a fiberglass cap I had no choice. It fit perfectly and may be slightly brighter than I recall the original, the water seal looks better than the original, so I rated the replacement part good. The one issue I had was that the mounting screws were 10-32 on my original and were changed to 10-24 on the replacement. New nuts were not supplied and I had to find a pair of nuts in my junk box :) I disassembled the original and found a failed diode on the circuit board, which appears to be for circuit protection. I bypassed the diode and the original is functional -- but now unsealed. Hopefully, the supplier knows of shortcomings of this diode and has improved their design.

    Fixed the problem

    It was an exact replacement . the only issue I had was they sent the wrong part the first time and it took quite a while to get the right part. It's expensive for what it is.

    Replacement

    Reason for poor quality, have one on my Lakeland Topper bought new, same one as the replacement and it only lasted less than 2 years as 3 of the Led burnt out.
