Ivy Ling, the middle child in a busy Chinese American household, feels invisible. Her mother has gone back to school to become a lawyer, and her father has two jobs to keep the family afloat. Book was as described with minor shelf wear. But really Seller states in the description that orders ship 2 days from payment and it is not so. PayPal charged me on the day of purchase. I had to contact the Seller 8 days after my payment, asking why my order had not ship yet (as 6 business days had passed). Seller never bothered to respond. Three days after Seller finally handed my order to the USPS, therefore a total of 11 days after PayPal charged my card.

    Good adjunct to your American Girl Ivy doll.

    Bought it because I wanted the book that went with the American Girl Ivy doll. Although I am adult, I liked it because it offered some insight into the workings of a Chinese-American family in San Francisco and also about choices a young girl must make in life. Good reading for the preteen girl. Not too long yet informative.
